Terms of Service

1. Service Description

CogniGuide is an AI study tool that converts documents and notes into interactive mind maps and flashcards. Access is provided on a subscription basis with monthly credit allocations.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under it. You must provide accurate information and notify us of any unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable Use

Do not misuse the service, attempt to reverse engineer, or use it to create harmful or illegal content. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

4. Payments, Renewals, and Cancellation

4.1 Subscriptions and Renewals

CogniGuide is offered as a subscription service. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal. Prices, plan features, credit limits, and usage caps are described at checkout and/or in your account dashboard and may change as permitted by law.

4.2 Plan Limits and Feature Caps

Your plan may include monthly credit allocations and may include limits such as maximum mind map size, maximum flashcards per deck, export limits, or other usage caps. These limits are part of the service. Requests for outputs beyond these limits (for example, requesting more flashcards than the per-deck maximum) are not a service malfunction.

4.3 Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account settings (or by contacting support). Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund prior charges. You will continue to have access through the end of your current billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout.

5. Refunds & Disputes

5.1 General Policy

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, unused credits, or unused features.

5.2 When We May Approve a Refund

If the service does not materially work as described for you and our support team cannot resolve the issue, you may request a refund within 14 days of the initial purchase or renewal. We may request information reasonably needed to diagnose and verify the issue (such as error messages, timestamps, device/browser details, or examples).

5.3 Not Refundable: Output Preference, Expected Results, or Misunderstood Limits

CogniGuide uses AI to generate study materials. AI outputs can vary and may be concise, incomplete, or not meet your preferences. Refunds will not be provided solely because:

• you dislike the style, level of detail, or quality of an AI-generated mind map or flashcards;
• the output does not match subjective expectations or intended academic outcomes.

5.4 Chargebacks and Billing Errors

If you believe a charge was made in error, was duplicated, or was unauthorized, contact us first at contact@cogniguide.app so we can help quickly. Unauthorized charges will be refunded after we reasonably confirm the issue. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account while the dispute is investigated.

5.5 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email contact@cogniguide.app from the account email address and include:

(a) your order email/receipt details, and

(b) a brief description of the issue.

6. Content

You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited license to process it for the purpose of providing the service. We do not claim any rights to your underlying materials.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or vary between runs; you are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
